AISI 1045 Steel Roundbar

Characteristic
AISI 1045 Steel is a medium strength steel. Suitable for shafts studs, keys etc. Available as rolled or normalised. Supplied as square bar, or round bar or flat. They are excelling in weldability & machinability , and they can be subjected to various heat treatments. Based on JIS G 4051-2009
AISI 1045 Steel Standard and Grade: JIS S45C DIN1.1151 is typical for flame hardening, and can produce a surface hardness of 500 BHN to a depth of 0.10 in this applies particularly to shafts and gears

Heat Treatment
The following temperature ranges are applicable for the respective heat treatment operations.
Full Annealing 800 – 850°C
Normalising 840 – 880°C
Hardening 820 – 860°C
Quenching medium Water or Oil
Tempering 550 – 660°C

Melting Point
Melting point: 1520 Degree Celsius

Applications

Standard punch head, special punch head and thread rolling tool requiring high precision, long service and abrasion resistance. Various machining tools, e. G. Lathe bit, milling cutter, drill bit, screw tap, round saw and other metal machining tools and wood machining tools. Also suitable for manufacture of forming tools, e. G. Cold extrusion head, extrusion die, punch dies of long service life, and plastic molds of high precision and long service life.
