Quard 450 offers high wear resistance in applications exposed to increased wear from sliding abrasion and heavy impacts from crushing rocks, gravel, sand or other harsh abrasives.

With a typical hardness of 450 Brinell, Quard 450 combines high strength with very good workability, especially in welding and cold forming.

Quard 450 combines the attributes of hardness and toughness with improved crack resistance and high durability.

Quard 450 in thinner gauges, opens up new design solutions for applications aimed at reducing weight, increasing payload and durability as well as reducing energy consumption and the impact on the environment.

Description
Quard 400 is an abrasion resistant steel with an initial hardness of 400 Brinell.

Due to its optimal combination of hardness, strength and ductility, Quard 400 can be used in any application subject to wear from various hard abrasives such as rocks, sand, minerals, scrap, waste or other aggressive materials.

Quard 400 is easy to bend, cut, machine and weld (to some extent, it’s like processing mild steel).

In all thicknesses Quard 400 provides an excellent surface finish within tight thickness tolerances, with a high-quality appearance and maximum fitting accuracy.

Quard 400 is ideal for applications such as: buckets, crushers, cutting edges, dump trucks, loaders, skips, sieves, feeders, measuring pockets, skips, etc

Fabrication

Bisalloy400 is high hardness, abra sion resistant steel offering very good impact toughness properties.

Bisalloy400 provides an optimum combination of abrasion resistant, toughness and weldability. Due to its low alloy content, Bisalloy400 can be readily welded using conventional welding processes and low hydrogen consumables.

Cold forming of Bisalloy400 is achievable on all thicknesses although an allowance for the higher strength should be taken into account. Bending machine capabilities should also be taken into consideration prior to any forming operation. Heating above 250ºC should be avoided, otherwise mechanical properties may be affected.

Fabrication

A unique chemical composition and steelmaking process for Bisalloy450 has been developed, incorporating
low carbon/low manganese contents. This is designed to improve transverse mechanical properties and produce low levels of segregation and ensures the newly developed Bisalloy450 not only has superior mechanical properties but also good formability and weldability.

Bisalloy450 can be readily welded using conventional low hydrogen MWAW and GMAW welding consum ables and processes. It can be welded to other weldable steels.

BISALLOY 450 can be cold bent by brake press-bending or roll bend method. However, Bisalloy 450 has higher hardness and strength levels compared to plain carbon steels and therefore suitable consideration of sufficient machine, plate bending direction and former radii must be made. Bisalloy450 should be bent at room temperature or below 200ºC to avoid reduction of mechanical properties.

Description
Wire mesh is a material that is made from various strands of interconnected metal, usually steel or aluminum. These strands can be welded together, extruded, or even connected by pins or other devices. The size and permeability of the wire mesh will often dictate its various uses; thinner mesh can be used as pasta or vegetable strainers, whereas larger, pinned mesh can be used as a conveyor belt in an industrial setting. Sometimes this type of mesh is used in gardening and landscaping applications as well.

One of the most commonly used types of mesh is welded wire mesh. This is often used in concrete construction, as the mesh can be laid down before the concrete is poured. The concrete can then be poured around the mesh, and once it sets, the concrete will have a higher tensile strength because the wire mesh contained within will help stabilize the often brittle concrete. This type of mesh is often used in place of steel rebar, which is a series of interconnected steel rods. Mesh tends to be easier to install and it comes at a lower cost than rebar for concrete projects.

Wire mesh can be fabricated to produce park benches, waste baskets and other baskets for material handling.
